Highlights of 2015


December 2015 - PFCC 4th Annual Putting Money Back in the Pockets of Homeowners in Bowie

December 2015 - PFCC 3rd Annual Holiday Party held at the Metro Points Hotel in New Carrollton

November 2015 - Hosted the Maryland State Justice Reinvestment Coordinating Council (JRCC) stakeholder meeting in Prince George's County to look at ways to reform the Maryland criminal justice system in Suitland

November 2015 - PFCC partners with the Neighborhood Design Center to do a site design, community outreach and education on storm water management at Southern Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Temple Hills

November 2015 - PFCC partners with the Interfatih Partners for the Chesapeake to engage and enlist county churches in the Trees for Sacred Places Program

November 2015 Held a business networking breakfast with Ernst and Young in Glenarden

October 2015 Hosted 2 grant writing workshops for nonprofits in Charles County

October 2015 Created a PFCC Youth Committee

September 2015 Partnered with the Suitland Civic Association and secured a grant to bring rain barrels to the Suitland Community

September 2015 - Secured a faith-based technical assistance grant to provide outreach and education around stormwater management and the environment to 4 faith-based groups (Eastern Community Church in Landover, MD, Mt. Paran Baptist Church in Clinton, MD, New Redeemer Baptist Church in Forestville, MD, and Southern Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Temple Hills, MD.

August 2015 - Secured a grant from Best Buy to provide a database design and programming camp for 10 school students who designed databases for 3 nonprofit organizations.

July 2015 - PFCC partners with the Center for Watershed Protection (CWP) to design retrofit projects around stormwater management and engage the community. The 2 churches selected for the project are Union Bethel AME in Brandywine and Accokeek Church of God in Accokeek.

April 2015 - Held our 2nd Annual Nonprofit Conference at Largo Community Church

April 2015 - Town Hall on Black Homes Do Matter Part II at Largo Community Church

February 2015 - Town hall on MD Criminal Justice Reform at the District Heights Municipal Center

February 2015 - Town Hall on Black Homes Do Matter at the Vista Gardens Center in Bowie

•Hosted 3 free workshops on How to Start a Nonprofit

•Hosted 10 grant writing workshops for nonprofits in Prince George's County
